Notes from Regional Animal Services of King County

Hi! My name is Buttercup and I am available for adoption!

I was surrendered to RASKC on August 31, 2026 because my owner had too many cats.

I am a shy gal that came in with a lot of other cats. I am still settling in here at the shelter, so I am very shy and shut down at this time. I am looking for a quiet home where I can settle in and take my time to get to know you.

Since I was not showing well in the shelter I am currently in a foster home to decompress.

Please fill out a foster interest form for the chance to meet me! To find that form click the "read about our adoption process" link then "foster path" link!

What happens next

  1. Contact Regional Animal Services of King County using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Regional Animal Services of King County, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
