Notes from Community Animal Welfare Society

Hi, my name is Embers. When my foster mom first took me in, I greeted her kindness with hisses, earning me my fire name Embers. My firey attitude has dissolved and I'm now a sweetheart. My foster mom has worked hard to earn my trust. Her hard work payed off and I now seek her out for love. My absolute favorite thing in the world is ear rubs. If my mom stops too early, I keep putting my head under her hand until she starts back up. I've been slowly warming up to the 8 year old human in my house, but would probably do better with older kids. There is also a dog in my foster home, and I have learned to tolerate him. My foster home has several other kittens, all of which I have become friends with so if you want to adopt a friend with me, my foster mom can make some suggestions for you. I have lots of energy so I do suggest you either have a young cat or kitten already in your home or adopt me with a friend. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-application

What happens next

  1. Contact Community Animal Welfare Society using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Community Animal Welfare Society, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
