Notes from Community Animal Welfare Society

Mittens is a very special kitty. She's shy, but so very sweet. She is nervous to meet new people and needs a place to feel safe. It will take time, but she will come to you when she is ready to trust you and wants attention, and it is so rewarding when she does. If you are willing to be patient and give her the time she needs, you will be rewarded with head butts and purrs, and she will start to show her silly, sweet personality. She’s the softest cat you’ll ever pet, she loves playing with ribbon wands and becomes the silliest girl as she runs and jumps around to play. She is very food motivated and loves her wet cat food and treats. Mittens will do best in a quiet home, preferably without children. She currently lives with a dog and could possibly live with a calm dog with a slow introduction. She must be adopted with her sister, Socks. They are a packaged deal. She relies on Socks for comfort and confidence. Mittens and Socks would do best as the only kitties in the household, but they do get along with the resident cat in their foster home. Are you the perfect, patient person ready to help Mittens shine like the star she is? If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-application

  1. Contact Community Animal Welfare Society using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Community Animal Welfare Society, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
