Notes from Dallas Cat Rescue dba Cat Matchers
For several days, Brownie stood on an apartment balcony and cried for help.
This beautiful and resilient 4-year-old boy had been surviving on the streets, but he seemed to understand that he was too sick to get better on his own. He was hungry, thirsty, and suffering from infected wounds on his neck and ears. Thankfully, a kind family listened to his cries, took him in as a foster, and gave him the chance he had been asking for.
With help from Cat Matchers, Brownie received treatment for his respiratory illness and wounds. He also underwent dental care to remove several painful teeth. During his treatment, we learned that Brownie is FIV positive—but that diagnosis does not change the loving cat he is or how deserving he is of a forever home.
Brownie is calm, gentle, and incredibly affectionate. He is a true lap cat who loves being close to his person and would happily sleep beside you at night. He enjoys children, warm patches of sunshine, and occasionally sharing his thoughts with a well-timed meow.
Although Brownie loves affection, he also has an independent side. He does not need to be on top of you every minute and is perfectly content while you are at work—but he will be very happy when you come home.
Brownie can be shy at first, but it does not take long for his sweet personality to appear. He would be happiest as the only pet, where he would not have to share his favorite person’s attention. After everything he has survived, can you really blame him for wanting all the love for himself?
Please give Brownie a second glance. Behind that handsome black coat is a brave, loving boy who once cried for someone to save him. Now he is waiting for someone to choose him.
Brownie is ideal for anyone. He is FIV+.
You do know that adopting an adorable cat like him earns you big Brownie points with Santa, don't you?
