Notes from Siamese Oriental Snowshoe Cat Rescue and Rehoming

Cleo — A Little Queen Learning to Trust Cleo is a stunning tabby with beautiful ginger woven through her stripes and dramatic markings extending from the corners of her eyes—reminiscent of the iconic eyes of Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen who inspired her name. And Cleo certainly has the regal gaze to match. She has a way of looking deeply into your eyes as though she’s trying to decide whether you’re worthy of her trust. Life hasn’t always treated this little queen kindly. Cleo survived on the streets, fighting for food and territory, and her fear of people suggests that humans may not always have been gentle with her. She arrived underweight, cautious, but clearly wanting to trust. With her foster, Cleo is slowly discovering that hands can bring love instead of fear. She may take one little step backward when you approach…and then, ever so bravely, lean forward for pets. Those tiny moments of trust are huge victories for her. Cleo needs a patient adopter who understands that her love will be earned, not automatic—and that makes it incredibly special. A quiet, predictable home where she can settle in at her own pace will allow her confidence to continue to grow. And like any proper queen, Cleo takes her meals very seriously! She loves Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials and looks forward to mealtime every single day. Cleo survived her past. Now she deserves her kingdom—a safe home, a patient person, and the chance to finally learn what it feels like to be treasured. Thank you for considering adopting one of our kittens/cats.
