Notes from Siamese Oriental Snowshoe Cat Rescue and Rehoming

Meet Tamale — A Little Bundle of Love! Just like his name, Tamale is warm, comforting, and impossible not to love! This handsome tabby kitten is incredibly friendly, social, and ready to wrap himself right into his new family. Tamale has that wonderful tabby combination of curiosity, playfulness, and affection. He enjoys people, gets along well with other cats, and is always interested in what’s happening around him. Whether he’s exploring, playing with a feline friend, or soaking up attention from his humans, Tamale brings a little extra spice and happiness wherever he goes. Setting Tamale Up for SuccessEven confident, friendly kittens can feel overwhelmed when they first arrive in a new home. We recommend starting Tamale in a small safe space, such as a bathroom or smaller bedroom, with his food, water, litter box, toys, bed, and hiding spot. This gives him a place that quickly becomes his and somewhere he knows he can retreat when he needs security. Starting new cats in a dedicated transition room and gradually expanding their space is also consistent with feline behavior recommendations. (PubMed Central (PMC))Once Tamale is comfortable, his world can gradually get bigger at his pace. If there are other cats in the home, slow introductions will help everyone start their relationship on the right paw. We strongly recommend reading the Adoption Manual on our website before bringing Tamale home—it has important information to help make his transition as smooth and successful as possible. Sweet, social, playful, and just the right amount of spicy—Tamale is ready to come home! ️Thank you for considering adopting one of our kittens/cats.
