Notes from Third Coast Pets Alive

Hi, I’m Mamacita Margarita, but my friends call me Margs! My story started when I was found at my foster mom’s coworker’s home, where I had given birth to my babies inside a wall. Unfortunately, there were termites in there with us, and when the exterminator needed to come, we had nowhere safe to stay. That’s when our foster mom stepped in and took my little family home with her. I’m an incredibly sweet and friendly young girl, but I’m also very shy. The funny thing is that I really, really want your affection. I’m just not immediately convinced that trusting you is a good idea. My foster mom says you can practically see the debate happening on my face. I want to come out. I want the pets. I want the love. But are you trustworthy? Give me a little time and patience, though, and eventually the desire for love wins. Once I feel safe with you, I’ll come out to rub against you and soak up all the affection I’ve been wanting. I might even give you one of my special little love bites. I get along just fine with other cats, both young and old. I’m simply a girl who needs a little extra time to learn that I’m safe and that the people around me are kind. I’m looking for someone patient who won’t rush me and will let me come out of my shell at my own pace. Once I decide you’re my person, you’ll have all the love I’ve been holding onto. I’m a sweet young mama who just needs someone willing to love me as much as I’ll love them.
