Meet Kelsey
Kelsey is a sweet, gentle girl who is learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. ❤️
Kelsey spent quite a bit of time in the shelter, where she had a little extra challenge navigating her surroundings. She has mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a condition that affects balance and coordination, so she has a cute little wobble when she walks — almost like a tiny drunken sailor.
Her foster home has given her the time and space she needed to start feeling comfortable, and she's making progress at her own pace.
Little by little, Kelsey is finding her courage. ❤️
She has recently started relaxing on the couch with her foster family nearby, happily sharing their space and watching the world around her. She's not quite ready for hands-on affection yet, but she's getting closer to her humans every day.
And for Kelsey, those little moments are BIG moments.
She would love a calm, patient home where she can continue to build her confidence and discover all the good things that come with being loved. She may take some time to fully trust her people, but she's already showing us that she's capable of so much more than she once believed.
Sometimes the most rewarding friendships are the ones that take a little longer to grow.
Kelsey is waiting for someone who will celebrate her little victories, give her the time she needs, and show her just how wonderful life can be.
Could you be her person?
This baby is spayed/neutered, UTD on vaccinations, is FIV and FeLV/Feline Leukemia Negative, and ready to find a soft spot to land and enjoy a family!
We are a foster based organization located on Long Island, NY. We do out of state adoptions within a reasonable distance. Please visit LCARescue.org for an application or more information!
