Notes from Purr Partners Feline Rescue

At just 5 months old, Tango has already lived a lifetime of incredible resilience. He was found outside at 7-weeks old, and according to the vet had hours left to live. (See first photo). He’s battled one illness after another and we feared he might lose his eye. Against the odds, he has not just survived, but thrived!

Tango’s left eye was saved through surgery but will always be a little clouded. Someone told me that when they see an eye like Tango’s, it seems to show a ghost mark of how close they came to death, while the other one is a window into the incredible life they get to live.

Today, Tango is a healthy, happy, ‘typical’ quirky tabby with so much love for life. He ADORES my cat and dog, is very food motivated, and always curious. Has purring frenzies at times. Loves to be pet. Iffy on being held :).

Because Tango spent months in quarantine recovering, he will initially be shy. He’ll need a patient adopter who understands that trust takes a little time and is willing to let him blossom.

To note: Tango has a salivary mucocele on his gland. At his most recent appt the vet felt he may never need surgery. However, surgery could become necessary if it begins to interfere with eating or breathing. His future adopter should be comfortable discussing his condition with their vet and keeping up with any recommended monitoring.

Tango has fought so hard just to be here. Now, he deserves the chance to simply be a kitten: to play, explore, make friends, enjoy his meals, and fall asleep knowing he’s safe and loved. He isn’t looking for someone to feel sorry for him. He’s looking for someone who sees the bright, beautiful life ahead of him. Adopting him out will be my greatest, yet happiest foster heartbreak. ❤️🩹
