Neutered Male Long Hair Brown Tabby

Hi, I’m Rusty. I’m about 3 years old, and as you can see, I am rather handsome. And I also like to think I’ve got the whole “chill” vibe figured out. I sleep much of the day away (highly recommended).

When I’m awake, I’m playful in my own low-key kind of way. I’ll be upfront about this: you’ll probably want to leave your hair ties in a secure location because those are some of my favorite “toys.” But I’m also really into the jingle balls. Really, though, belly scratches are my favorite thing (for real, it’s not a trap haha!).

I am FIV positive too, but that is just fyi, I am a healthy happy kitty now.

Though I love being near and will sleep on the bed next to you, I’m not a big snuggler at night. I’m not much of a lap cat, but I love being petted on my own terms. Don’t mistake all that for being an “aloof” kitty. I really love being around my people and will follow you around the house. Even if I don’t need to be attached to you, I like knowing you’re there.

I would do best as an only kitty with a person who understands that love doesn’t always mean hours of cuddles. I’m not sure about dogs, though I’m willing to give it a go with a similarly low-key pup. Kids should be over age 8 and understand how to handle cats safely (and on their own terms). If you’re looking for a furry family member and agree that love sometimes means just being in the same room and quietly keeping each other company, let’s get to know each other. Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and let them know you want to meet Rusty.

Dogs: Must have kitty manners

Other cats: Ok, but better as an only kitty

Kids: Over 8 with kitty experience
