Celly – The Black-and-White Monarch Who Has Already Claimed Every Throne in the Kingdom

Celly is a stunning tuxedo princess who walks into a room like she personally signed the lease. She has decided the world revolves around three things: Celly, food, and Celly again (in that order).

She is not a toy cat. She is a food cat. Wave a treat pouch and watch the transformation: the aloof queen suddenly becomes a polite, head-butting, leg-rubbing lovebug who will allow—nay, demand—chin scratches, cheek rubs, and full-body pets while she waits for tribute. Once the snack transaction is complete, affection levels return to “maybe, if I’m in the mood.” Her purr is rare and precious, like finding a twenty in an old coat pocket.

Picking her up? Permitted, briefly, on royal decree. She’ll tolerate a few seconds of elevation with regal dignity, then politely wriggle down to resume ruling from ground level. This is not rejection; it’s simply beneath Her Majesty to be carried for long.

Other cats? Absolutely not. Celly has reviewed the applications and rejected them all. She glares through kennel bars like a mafia boss collecting protection money and has been known to deliver dramatic hiss-threats to anyone who forgets the hierarchy. This is a one-cat kingdom; subjects of the feline variety need not apply.

Celly is searching for a calm, adult-only castle with a loyal human servant who understands that love from a queen is earned in treats and granted on her schedule. Give her a sunny windowsill throne, scheduled meal ceremonies, and zero peasant cats, and she will graciously allow you to bask in her presence.

If you’re ready to pledge allegiance to a gorgeous, opinionated tuxedo dictator who rules with beauty, sass, and the occasional benevolent head-boop, come pay your respects to Celly. Long live the Queen.

Can't adopt right now? Marshmallow Foundation is looking for a foster home for Celly. Fostering is short-term, and the rescue usually covers food and vet care. Ask them about it.

What happens next

  1. Contact Marshmallow Foundation using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Marshmallow Foundation, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
