Notes from Marshmallow Foundation

Meet Pierce & Meryl – Bonded Littermates Seeking Their Forever Home!

These beautiful, mysterious siblings are classic “observe from a distance” kitties with huge golden eyes and velvet fur. They prefer watching life from 3–5 feet away — unless it’s wrestling time with each other. They nap together in a cozy ball on the highest perch and turn into tiny panther acrobats with wand toys (best viewed from afar).

Petting is tricky: Pierce allows ~2.5 strokes before tragic-eyed retreat; Meryl tolerates one chin scratch then delivers an offended slow-motion exit. Picking them up? Hard no — they melt into liquid smoke. This bonded pair does well with calm cats and thrives in a quiet, adult-only home with patient people who let them come to you. They need high perches, wrestling toys, and plenty of space and time. With patience, these gorgeous shadow-kittens may eventually claim a spot at the foot of your bed. If you want two low-key, mysterious companions, Pierce & Meryl might be the perfect pair!

What happens next

  1. Contact Marshmallow Foundation using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Marshmallow Foundation, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
