Notes from Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center

Meet Kira — The Office Supervisor! Meet Kira, a stunning 6-year-old spayed brown tabby with expressive eyes, a quiet presence, and a very important job: Office Supervisor! Kira takes her position seriously, patiently waiting for staff to arrive each morning so she can greet them with a sweet little meow. Kira came to the shelter after losing the home she had known her entire life. The sudden change was overwhelming, and she initially spent her days hiding and feeling unsure of her new surroundings. Once staff moved her to the quiet second-floor office space, however, Kira began to relax—and before long, her wonderful personality started to shine. This independent girl loves peace, routine, and a good window view. Her favorite pastime is lounging in the windowsill and watching the world go by. When she's not keeping an eye on the office, she can usually be found supervising important matters like meal schedules, staff productivity, and whether everyone has provided her with an appropriate amount of attention. Kira enjoys affection on her terms. She'll happily accept a few gentle pets and is perfectly content being your friendly roommate rather than your constant shadow. She appreciates having her boundaries respected and prefers that her back half be left alone. Give her a little space, a cozy spot, and a window to watch, and Kira is perfectly happy. If you're looking for a quiet, independent companion with a touch of managerial flair, Kira may be just the boss you've been looking for. She's ready to trade her office for a forever home where she can continue supervising, making biscuits, and quietly charming everyone she meets.
