Notes from Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue
Hi, I’m Pia! I’m a beautiful 3-year-old girl who has been through some difficult experiences, and I’m still learning that the world can be a safe place. I struggle with PTSD and fear, and sometimes I’ll even fight with my own shadow. When I feel scared or overwhelmed, I may lash out, so I need a very patient, cat-savvy person who understands that I need plenty of time, space, and understanding. My perfect home would be quiet and predictable, with no other animals or children. I’m not looking for someone to change me overnight—I’m looking for someone willing to meet me where I am and help me feel safe, one day at a time.
If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org.
Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.
As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

What happens next
- Contact Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
- They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
- Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue, never to AdoptNearby.
- Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
