Notes from Midwest Pet Refuge
Widget showed up with a group of kittens from the same location but clearly had her own agenda from the start. This stunning dilute calico has never really followed anyone else’s rules, and she’s not about to start now. She’s friendly, but on a schedule only she has access to. Strangers get the cautious version of Widget. Those she loves get the pushy, mischievous, mildly ornery version — and honestly, that’s the better deal. She gets along beautifully with other cats and has a spirited streak that reminds you she’s very much a cat who enjoys life on her own terms. If you’re looking for a pretty, independent girl with personality to spare, Widget would like to formally submit her application.

What happens next
- Contact Midwest Pet Refuge using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
- They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
- Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Pet Refuge, never to AdoptNearby.
- Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
