Notes from Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control

Looooook out, it's Leroy!!! Leroy is a spunky lil man looking for his furever home! Looking to add a little adventure and energy to your life?! Leroy is your man. Note for adopters: This kitten is overall healthy but has experienced chronic diarrhea while in the shelter’s care. Standard deworming for common parasites, diet change, and antibiotics have been provided to help resolve the diarrhea. Diarrhea is beginning to resolve and this kitten is otherwise healthy. Currently, this kitten is eating Hill’s i/d kitten dry and Hill’s i/d canned food (made to support gastrointestinal health). A sample of this food will be sent home with you. Please feed this food for at least 1-2 weeks in the new home. We recommend that you make any diet changes gradually to prevent gastrointestinal upset. The diarrhea has not caused severe health issues, but you should pay attention to hydration and growth and seek veterinarian advice if concerns arise.
