Notes from Midwest Pet Refuge

Thistle was found wandering around someone’s yard, unsure of where to go or who to trust. He’s a sweet little boy who’s still learning that humans can be safe and kind. As he settles in, his personality is just beginning to peek through — gentle moments, curious looks, and the early signs of a kitten who wants to connect. Thistle is still growing into himself, but he’s ready for a patient home that will let him blossom at his own pace. Meet Our Fabulous Foster-to-Adopt Kittens! Our young kittens are ready to go home now through our foster‑to‑adopt program. You take them home today, and the adoption is finalized after their spay/neuter surgery. Adoption fee: $75 Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt Adoption includes: spay/neuter, microchip, FVRCP vaccine(s), rabies vaccine, flea prevention, and deworming medication. Just a quick note—he's currently in a foster home, not at the shelter, so he won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet him, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we’ll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com

What happens next

  1. Contact Midwest Pet Refuge using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Pet Refuge, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
