Notes from Midwest Pet Refuge

Pimento may be named after a mild pepper, but there’s nothing mild about her. She’s a tiny girl with plenty of sass, and she’ll tell you every opinion she has. She acts like she’s twice her size and likes to hang out with the big cats, since she’s pretty sure she’s one of them. She’s a big foodie. Her foster mom says she turns into Gurgi from The Black Cauldron when you have something she wants, and she looks a bit like him too. She’ll remind you when it’s mealtime, and if you’re slow to serve, she’ll help herself to whatever is on your plate. In her mind, your snacks were always hers. Pimento is a little talker and a real cuddle bug. She follows her foster mom from room to room and can’t get enough attention from her humans. When she’s done, she gets up and walks off, no hard feelings. She’ll be back. She gets along with her foster cat friends and enjoys playing with them, as long as it’s on her schedule. She’ll speak up when something isn’t to her liking. She’s fine with dogs as long as they give her some personal space. The only time she grumbles at her foster home’s dog is when it half lies down on top of her, and nobody can really blame her for that. Her history is unknown. What we do know is that she’s spicy and sweet in equal measure. She’ll keep you entertained and on schedule, and she’ll happily soak up all the attention you can give her, until she decides she’s done. Just a quick note—she's currently in foster care, not at the shelter, so she won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet her, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we’ll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. What happens next

  1. Contact Midwest Pet Refuge using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Pet Refuge, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
