Buckwheat

Buckwheat and his three siblings were rescued near a grain terminal, which is how he ended up with his hearty name. When he first came in, his eyes were messy and uncomfortable, and he was completely unsure about humans — everything felt too big and too loud. He’s still a reserved boy, but he’s beginning to understand that kindness exists. When someone pets him softly, he’ll shut his eyes like he’s thinking, “Alright… maybe this isn’t terrible.” He’s not the type to push into your hand or ask for attention yet — he’s a thoughtful, cautious kitten taking things one small step at a time. Buckwheat will shine in a calm, patient home that appreciates shy cats and notices the little moments of progress. With steady routines, gentle handling, and plenty of love, this sweet boy has every chance to grow into a wonderful companion.
