Notes from Midwest Pet Refuge

Meet Falkor Falkor is a soft, gentle boy who’s still learning to be brave. He came in with his five siblings, and while they’ve all been exploring the world together, Falkor tends to hang back and take things in quietly—until he’s ready to speak up. Yes, speak up! Falkor has a charming little voice and isn’t afraid to use it once he feels safe. Whether it’s a soft meow to say hello or a quiet chirp when he’s curious, he’s learning that talking is part of connecting. It’s his way of letting you know he’s nearby and ready for a gentle moment. He’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue to build confidence and be loved for exactly who he is. If you’re someone who listens with your heart and appreciates quiet companionship with a touch of conversation, Falkor might be your perfect match Meet Our Fabulous Foster-to-Adopt Kittens! Tiny paws, big personalities, and endless purrs await you! Our friendly, playful young kittens are currently available on a foster-to-adopt basis—meaning you get to welcome them into your home now, with adoption finalized after their spay/neuter surgery. It’s the purr-fect way to start your happily ever after early! But wait—there’s more to love! Our rescue requires that kittens be adopted in pairs (at a special discounted adoption fee!) or into a home that already has a young, friendly cat. Why? Because Single Kitten Syndrome is real! When kittens grow up alone, they can develop behavioral issues like biting, excessive vocalizing, or difficulty learning boundaries. Having a feline buddy helps them learn how to “cat” properly—and gives you double the cuddles, double the fun, and half the zoomies at 3 a.m. So if you’re ready to double your joy, adopt a dynamic duo, or introduce one of these cuties to your resident feline, let us know! Your new best friends are waiting to pounce into your heart. Apply today and let the kitten chaos begin—in the best way possible! Just a quick note—he's currently in foster care, not at the shelter, so he won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet him, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we’ll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com

What happens next

  1. Contact Midwest Pet Refuge using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Pet Refuge, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
