Notes from Midwest Pet Refuge

Floyd is a shy, gentle boy who has been with us since 2023. He came to us as a tiny stray stuck in an engine, and after everything he survived, he learned to be cautious with new people. Floyd does not give his trust easily — he watches, he waits, and he decides in his own time. But once he knows you’re safe, he becomes a completely different cat. He enjoys soft pets, quiet company, and will show a warm, affectionate side that feels genuinely earned. If Floyd chooses to come to you, you should feel honored. He doesn’t hand out that privilege lightly. He is neutered and ready for a patient, understanding forever home where his careful heart can open at its own pace. Adoption fee: $75 Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt Adoption includes: spay/neuter, microchip, FVRCP vaccine(s), rabies vaccine, flea prevention, and deworming medication. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at adopt@MidwestPetRefuge.com

What happens next

  1. Contact Midwest Pet Refuge using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Midwest Pet Refuge, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
