Notes from Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL)

Meet Angelica “Jelly”, a pint-sized tortie whose tortitude consists of head butts, purring, and flopping over for belly rubs every time she gets pets. Jelly started off her life in the great outdoors, but is delighted to now be an indoor cat. Jelly is the perfect combination of playful, affectionate, and independent. She’s happy to play by herself or nap while you work from home or are out of the house. When you return, she’ll greet you with her tiny meows, headbutts, and flops to ask for pets.

Likes: Being pet, food, treats, cat scratcher that she uses as a bed, wand toys with feathers, catnip toys, catnip, neighborhood watch from the window

Dislikes: the vacuum (vacuums don’t exist outside so they are still new to this girl)

Okay with kids?: She hasn’t met kids in her foster home but is very sweet and friendly, so most likely!

Okay with other pets?: Her fosters are still working on slow intros with their resident cat and 50lb dog. So far, Jelly has done well with them from a distance.

What happens next

  1. Contact Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL) using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL), never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
