Notes from Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL)

Meet Anne

My name is Anne and I am looking for someone with a big heart who will care for me. Shortly after arriving at A.R.F., volunteers realized that I was having health issues. After testing, the veterinarian diagnosed me with anemia (my body has acclimated to it) and either a blood cell disorder, a bone marrow, cancer, or a systemic infectious disease. The exact cause could be determined by a bone marrow aspiration, but since there is no cure for these conditions, there is no reason to continue testing.

HOWEVER, I have been in a foster home since my partial diagnosis and I feel good. I play, I sit by the window to watch the world outside, and I enjoy the company of my foster parents. I sit in their laps and I purr.

There’s no telling how long my life will be, but that goes for any of us, doesn’t it?

One thing that helps me is eating a prescription kidney diet. I DO NOT have kidney disease, but the veterinarians prescribe this food because it does help me.

I’m hoping that someone like you will open up your home to me. I do fine in my foster home, but I would love to have a home of my own. This home would be one without other pets or small children.

If you would like to see more photos and videos of me, you can look up “It Started With One Foster Cat” on Facebook. This Facebook page features me!

Anne is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained.

Anne's adoption fee is $135. If you are interested in meeting Anne, please fill out our Online Application today! We would love for you to meet her and learn what some of her medical needs are.

Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will be able to contact you to arrange a meeting.

What happens next

  1. Contact Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL) using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF-IL), never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
