Notes from Humane Society of Broward County

WATCH MY VIDEO...Hallie is a stunning black velvet beauty with captivating golden eyes, and she's hoping to find a patient, loving person who will give her the time she needs to feel safe again. At 5 years old, Hallie has lost the only home she's ever known because her owner no longer had time for her. Although her former owner felt she wasn't interested in people, we're discovering that there's much more to Hallie than meets the eye. Hallie is a shy, independent girl who tends to hide and keep to herself when she's unsure of her surroundings. She isn't a lap cat and doesn't enjoy being held, but that doesn't mean she doesn't want companionship. She simply needs someone who understands that love doesn't always mean being picked up or constantly cuddled. Give her time to build trust, and she'll begin to show you her sweet side. Once comfortable, she enjoys gentle scratches on her head and may even strike up a little conversation with you when you speak to her. She also enjoys feather wand toys, soft toys, and tasty treats. Hallie will do best in a quiet, peaceful home with someone who understands that trust takes time. Imagine her relaxing in a sunny window, snoozing in a cozy bed, and gradually learning that she's safe and loved. She may never be the cat who demands to sit in your lap, but the bond you build with her could be something truly special. If you have a gentle heart and the patience to let Hallie blossom at her own pace, please come meet her. She deserves a chance to feel secure, cherished, and loved for the rest of her life.
