Notes from Evergreen Animal Protective League
Felix is a very sweet, loving boy, taken in when his owner in Walsenburg died. She rescues cats on her own and pays to get them vetted at a small nearby clinic. As part of the clinic’s intake procedure them do an “adoptable assessment. ” Both boys (Felix had a housemate Morty, already adopted) received a “green light, no restrictions” if she wanted the clinic to help find them homes. Knowing how many homeless cats and good homes are in that area, she opted instead to try to place them herself, somewhere out of Walsenburg and started searching rescues and shelters on social media. When she read a post raving about EAPL of Canon City, she contacted us and opted to keep them on our waiting list until we could get to them. Both boys are good with other cats and have lived with a big dog. They are 3yrs old and fully vetted. Felix needed a dental which was done on 6/29.
Felix is still shy on first meeting, but he’s a very patient and non-demanding boy and once he knows you, he’s very affectionate and loves to be around humans. He’s a “people person” and loves to give his people head bumps and to invite and welcome all the pets he can get.
He is currently settling into the EAPL Cat Adoption Center located at Chow Down Pet Supplies in Evergreen. Be sure to look for him when you visit. A completed and approved cat application (www.eaplo.com) can assure you take home the cat best suited to you.
