Notes from Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter

Meet Midnight, the black female kitten! Midnight came to the Shelter with her two siblings. They were a little small for adoption and a little scared of the world around them. A wonderful foster home took in the trio to help them grow big and strong as well as more confident about the world around them. She reports: `Midnight is a sweet and curious girl who can be shy at first but quickly warms up once she realizes how nice pets and cuddles are. She loves her siblings and is always ready to run around and play. She likes being involved in whatever is going on and will often find you when it's time to settle down for a nap. Her longer back legs make her look extra cute and a little goofy when she's running around. She's a lovely mix of playful, curious, and affectionate.`Midnight is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. On Saturday, October 31st, the Shelter is celebrating Halloween through an “Adopt Your Boo” special. This cat’s adoption fee will be waived! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
