Notes from Yolo County Animal Services Shelter
Meet Jazz! At 17 years young, Jazz has perfected the art of being a delightful little lady. This sweet senior knows exactly what she likes in life: a cozy bed to sleep on, plenty of pets, good conversation, and breakfast served on time! She's an affectionate, talkative girl who loves rubbing against her people and isn't shy about letting you know when she'd like a little attention—or when it's time to fill her food bowl. If you stop petting her too soon, don't be surprised if she reaches out with her paw to gently remind you she'd like a few more! Jazz has all the charm you'd expect from a cat who's spent years mastering the role of beloved companion. She's full of personality, has the cutest little voice, and loves simply sitting beside her people. Her recent adopter described her as wonderfully easygoing, noting that she wasn't bothered by everyday household activity—even vacuuming! She also did well living with young children, choosing to quietly walk away if she wanted a little space. Jazz is currently being managed for chronic kidney disease with a prescription kidney diet and is doing well. She has previously lived with both cats and dogs, although at this stage in life she'd likely appreciate easygoing companions who will respect that she's the queen of the castle. If you've ever thought about opening your heart to a senior cat, Jazz is ready to show you just how much love, companionship, and laughter can fit into one furry package. She may be 17 years old, but she's not finished writing her story—and we'd love to see her next chapter be the very best one yet.
