Notes from Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter
Meet Tate, the handsome 13 year old senior kitty! Tate came to the shelter after his previous guardian passed away, and now he is looking for another home to welcome him in for his retirement years. In his previous home, Tate was a friendly and talkative guy! He took his job as a doorman very seriously, and would greet all visitors at the door with a friendly meow! . As far as we know, Tate has never lived with other feline friends. Tate has lived with dogs in the past and did well with one, but not with others, so any potential adopters should keep in mind that a slow introduction will help ease any tension between Tate and resident animals. Tate’s adoption fee has been sponsored by the Silver Whisker’s Fund – a fund that helps get senior cats out of Shelters. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
