Notes from Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter
Meet Spot, the black and white male kitten. Spot arrived to the Shelter with his mom cat as an underage kitten. He and his littermates were tiny and needing extra TLC. An experienced foster parent took in this family and helped bring them back to good health. Spot is now ready for adoption. Spot has been socialized with a variety of aged people in his foster home. He has also interacted with cat-savvy dogs and cats. A home with other animals may be a fit provided there is a slow, thoughtful introduction. Spot should be indoors only to keep him safe (as well as our local wildlife). On Saturday, October 31st, the Shelter is celebrating Halloween through an “Adopt Your Boo” special. This cat’s adoption fee will be waived! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
