Notes from Living The Dream Rescue

Meet Mouse, a stunning lavender Oriental Shorthair with a big personality, an impressive vocal range, and plenty of opinions! This purebred, neutered gentleman is initially shy, but once comfortable, he forms a strong attachment to his person. He loves attention, follows his humans around, and insists on being involved in daily activities. Whether you're relaxing, working, or using your laptop, Mouse may decide your personal space is his personal space!

Mouse is affectionate, demanding, and wonderfully dramatic. He talks, yells, and screams when he wants something, particularly when it comes to food and water. His morning routine starts between 6 AM and 8 AM, and he expects his dry food and water bowls to be topped off two to three times daily, including before bedtime. He is free-fed Dr. Elsey's or Friskies dry food and enjoys a small can of wet food twice daily, preferring shreds and select pâtés. His water must remain clean and free of debris, or you'll definitely hear about it!

Mouse loves high places and cat trees, but he isn't always confident with jumping or maintaining his balance. Easy-access elevated perches are ideal. He also has little regard for personal boundaries, frequently jumping onto or walking across people, sometimes using his claws for stability. Sleeping humans and unattended keyboards are fair game! He requires a large, high-sided litter box with clumping clay litter, specifically Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat or Fresh Step.

Mouse's Home Requirements

ONLY CAT: Mouse must be the only cat in the household, now and in the future. Other cats cause behavioral issues. The sole exception is Figaro, a shy cat he currently lives with successfully. They are not bonded and may be adopted separately or together.

NO DOGS: Mouse requires a dog-free home, now and in the future.

NO CHILDREN: An adult-only household is required. Mouse is not particularly gentle, has little awareness of physical boundaries, and may unintentionally scratch when jumping, climbing, or walking across people.

METAL SCREENS: Windows and screen doors must have sturdy, securely installed metal screens because Mouse pushes against and claws at screening.

ATTENTION & ROUTINE: Mouse needs patient adults who appreciate a vocal, affectionate companion and can maintain his daily routines.

Mouse will bring his favorite blue feather wand toy to his new home to help him settle in. He needs patience while adjusting, but once he feels secure, he'll happily become your devoted feline shadow.

Mouse isn't a quiet, low-maintenance kitty. He's talkative, affectionate, particular, occasionally clumsy, and determined to be part of your everyday life. For someone who appreciates an opinionated companion with plenty of love to give, Mouse has a whole lot of personality waiting to be adored!

He is tested, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. His birth date is 9/28/2017 and his adoption fee is $600.
