Notes from Living The Dream Rescue

Ghost appeared in her foster family's backyard just before a storm last November, and this beautiful girl has been revealing her personality at her own pace ever since. With her incredibly soft, velvet-like fur that feels almost like rabbit fur, Ghost is as unique as she is sweet.

Ghost is extremely shy initially and needs plenty of patience while adjusting to new people and surroundings. It took her quite some time to trust her foster family, but once she did, she gradually took over their bed, started sleeping beside them, and eventually began joining them on the couch and climbing into their laps. Everything happens on Ghost's terms, and she should never be forced to be picked up, held, or carried around.

Once comfortable, Ghost becomes a surprisingly affectionate and persistent companion! She'll climb onto your lap or chest, get right in your face, and demand attention. If you prefer a kitty who keeps her distance, Ghost may not be your ideal match. She loves sleeping near her people, watching BirderKing on YouTube, and exploring elevated spaces like cat trees and bookshelves.

Ghost is also a food enthusiast with absolutely no regrets! She's a treat addict and what we affectionately call a "no regret" kitty, meaning she considers practically any food fair game, including whatever happens to be on your plate. Food will need to be kept out of reach, and mealtimes may require a little extra supervision!

Ghost's Ideal Home

NO DOGS: Ghost is frightened by dogs and will hide rather than interact with them. She requires a dog-free household.

CHILDREN: Ghost requires a quiet, adult-only household or a home with calm, respectful teenagers and older. She is sensitive to loud noises and commotion and tends to hide when overwhelmed.

OTHER CATS: Ghost can coexist with other cats as long as they respect her space and leave her alone. However, she is noticeably less affectionate and outgoing when other cats are around. She would likely be happiest as an only cat, where she can enjoy all the attention from her humans.

PATIENT ADOPTERS: Ghost needs people who understand that trust takes time. She dislikes being picked up, carried, placed in carriers, or confined in kennels and cages.

VERTICAL SPACE: Cat trees, sturdy bookshelves, and other safe climbing areas are important for Ghost, as she enjoys exploring and relaxing up high.

Ghost may take a while to show her true personality, but for someone willing to give her the time, space, and understanding she needs, she'll become an affectionate companion who wants to be right beside you, or possibly directly in your face!

Ghost doesn't want to be rushed. She wants to be loved on her own terms, and once she trusts you, she'll make sure you know it!

She is spayed, tested, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her estimated birthdate is 6/1/2023, and her adoption fee is $160.
