Notes from Forest Felines

Meet Seymour! We also call him “See Morse Code” because instead of a traditional meow, Seymour often communicates with a series of funny little clicking noises. We’re not quite sure why, but it has become one of his most endearing quirks.

Seymour is the strongest and most robust of his littermates, but underneath that big, sturdy exterior, he is truly just a baby. He loves to be in your lap or stretched out on top of you and, if you hold still long enough, he will happily settle in and make himself comfortable.

When he isn’t cuddling, Seymour is a big-time wrestler and an enthusiastic tree climber. He is playful, curious, and very interested in the older cats. He will confidently run right up to them hoping they might want to play, only to occasionally get a smack in the face for his efforts. Seymour’s response is usually to sit down and quietly ponder where it all went wrong.

We allow our cats outdoor time in a securely enclosed, climb-proof fenced yard. If Seymour is allowed outside in his new home, we recommend a similar secure enclosure so he can safely climb, play, and explore while remaining protected from predators.

What happens next

  1. Contact Forest Felines using the button. AdoptNearby does not take applications.
  2. They will send you their application or ask a few questions about your home.
  3. Most organizations arrange a meet, sometimes a home visit, then a small adoption fee that usually covers spay or neuter and vaccines. That fee is paid to Forest Felines, never to AdoptNearby.
  4. Read the cats care guide so you arrive prepared.
