Meet Pepper, Your Future Fluffy Little Shadow!

Pepper is a handsome 12-week-old solid black fluffy boy with gorgeous green eyes and one extra-special feature: a crooked tail! This sweet boy has a little something extra that makes him even more unique.

Pepper’s story started when he and his siblings came into our care with their mama when they were just hours old. Sadly, their mom became sick and passed away when the babies were only 3 weeks old. Pepper and his sisters then went to a wonderful foster home, where they were loved, spoiled, and given all the care they needed to grow into the happy, healthy kittens they are today.

Now, Pepper is ready to find a family of his very own! He is playful, sweet, and curious, with plenty of kitten energy and love to share. Whether he’s exploring his surroundings, playing with his favorite toys, or soaking up attention, this fluffy little guy is sure to bring plenty of joy to his forever home.

Pepper is neutered, vaccinated for his age, microchipped, and on prevention. He is FeLV negative but is currently testing positive for FIV. Since Pepper is only 12 weeks old, his positive test may be due to antibodies passed to him by his mother rather than an actual FIV infection. Kittens born to FIV-positive mothers can test positive while those maternal antibodies remain in their systems, and many will test negative once the antibodies naturally clear. Pepper should be retested around 6 months of age, and there is a good chance he will test negative at that time!

Even if Pepper remains FIV positive, he can still live a long, happy, healthy life. FIV is typically transmitted through deep bite wounds, so it is not easily spread through normal interactions like sharing food and water, grooming, playing, or snuggling. FIV-positive cats can make wonderful companions and enjoy a great quality of life!

Pepper has come such a long way from that tiny newborn who needed extra care, and now it’s time for his next chapter! Could you be the one to give this special, crooked-tailed boy his happily ever after? His adoption fee is $200.

Please remember: Unless otherwise specified, all our kittens and cats are strictly indoor pets.

If you’re interested in adoption, please visit straylovefoundation.org and complete an adoption application.

Every rescue in our care receives comprehensive vetting, which includes:

A combo test Deworming Spay/neuter procedures Vaccinations Microchipping

We take every possible step to ensure their health and happiness, giving them the best chance at a long, fulfilling life.

While we do everything in our power to provide healthy rescues, it's important to note that some animals may have genetic health conditions we cannot predict (since we don’t have their family history). Additionally, medical tests—though highly reliable—can occasionally yield false negatives. Unexpected health issues may arise, either before or after adoption, but thanks to our thorough vetting process, the likelihood of a long and healthy life is very high.

Additional adoption details:

Transportation fees, if applicable, vary based on distance and expenses. Home checks may be conducted. Our standard tax-deductible adoption donation is $200. For special breeds, uniquely colored, or exceptionally adorable rescues, we may request a higher donation to help cover vet expenses.
