Notes from Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary
Sky and Meadow are a female/male pair of 4 year old budgies who were surrendered when their owner moved to college. They are enjoying their out of cage time and exploring the bird tree and other bird's cages when out. Sky is a little bossier, but is still practicing her flight skills, while Meadow is a sweetie that is a bit more skilled at flying. Neither is finger trained, and they get along like siblings.
Minimum cage size for a pair of parakeets is 30 inches by 20 inches by 36 inches. Larger is always better, especially if out of cage time is minimal. And bar spacing must be no larger than 1/2 inch. We are always happy to assist with advice on proper habitat and diet.
